45 years have passed since the release of the first album by the Scottish band The Exploited. "Punks Not Dead" was released in 1981, after the emergence of the British punk movement of the 70s, and contemporary to movements like post-punk or new wave, which somehow drew from it, but were not as rebellious. Hence the title of this album, asserting that punk would not die so easily.
